Manchester City has opened conversations with Lyon about a deal for midfielder Rayan Cherki.
Pep Guardiola, who brings in the former Liverpool coach Pep Libnders as his new assistant, has given the green light to the city to offer on Cherki after conversations with the 21-year-old.
Cherki is appreciated about £ 35 million after scoring 12 goals in 44 games this season, including two against Manchester United in the Europa League.
He was also part of the France U23 team that won a silver medal at last summer's Olympic Games.
Cherki is not yet covered by France at Senior International level, but he recently received his first call-up and was able to make his debut in Thursday's Final Clash of the UEFA Nations League with Spain.
Cherki said last month that Lyon will stay in his heart, even if he will continue this summer.
“I don't know,” he said when he was asked about his future. 'In any case, I know that I have given everything for the club. I did everything I could do for Lyon, because it is a club that I will never forget, one that will always be in my heart.
“I kept left many players then. Today I don't regret. Whatever happens, I will give everything for the club until the last moment. I only have Lyon in my mind, and I would never call anyone else. '
City has already proposed an offer of around £ 50 million for AC Milan who attacks midfielder Tijjani Reijnders.
The plan is that he has the time to participate in the club World Cup, which starts for them in Philadelphia against Wydad AC on June 18.
If City succeeds in signing both Cherki and Reijnders, this will question Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest.
The city is also enthusiastic about wolves who are left Rayan Ait-Nouri, while Kevin De Bruyne is ready to join Napoli for free.
