Manchester City have reached a verbal agreement with Eintracht Frankfurt to sign red-hot striker Omar Marmoush.
The Premier League champions had already agreed personal terms with Marmoush and are now looking to seal his £67million transfer.
Marmoush, 25, is the second top scorer in the Bundesliga behind Harry Kane with 15 goals. He scored twenty goals in all competitions.
Mail Sport exclusively revealed City's interest in the Egypt international last month.
City are looking for a striker to lighten the load on Erling Haaland and Pep Guardiola has admitted they made a mistake by not replacing Julian Alvarez, who joined Atletico Madrid this summer.
Guardiola's side are expected to complete the £33.5m signing of wonderkid Uzbek Lens centre-back Abdukodir Khusanov this week and have reached a £29.4m deal with Palmeiras to sign centre-back Vitor Reis.
Twenty-year-old Khusanov signs a four-and-a-half-year contract with the option of extension.
Reis will also immediately join City instead of staying at Palmeiras until after the Club World Cup as initially intended.
City had originally hoped to land Marmoush for around £40m, but Frankfurt have insisted they want a premium as it is the January window and they need to find a replacement.
Provided all deals are completed, this will mean a spend of £102.9 million for City so far, a clear statement of how urgently they want to turn the season around.
However, this may not mean the end of their foray into the transfer market.
City are planning to add another midfielder to the squad.
