Man City receive big boost with Bobb on brink of return after 5-month injury

Oscar Bobb is fighting to prove his fitness and put an end to five months on the sidelines when Manchester City goes to Arsenal this weekend.

The Norway International would become a Breakout star for Pep Guardiola this season before he broke a bone in his leg during a training session in August.

Bobb shone in the preseason and at the Shield Community, with Guardiola ready to give the 21-year-old a run as the first choice on the right wing.

City missed the intensity of Bobb during a gloomy run of form, but welcomed him back in the first team training fourteen days ago.

BobB is supposed to have a slim chance to make the trip to the Emirates, with the FA Cup fourth round draw at Leyton Orient a week later seen as a guarantee.

Having the extra option offers Guardiola a large boost in the midst of a tough fixture list, with Liverpool, Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest all on the horizon in the Premier League.

If City Club Brugge beats in the Champions League on Wednesday, they have two extra games in the Play -off round of February to determine if they will reach the last 16.

City can make three changes to their European team for the knockout phase. BobB was not registered in September after his injury, but can be eligible as a 'B -list' player – reserved for young people who played for the academy of a club – so his recording would not count for the assigned changes.
