Manchester City Vooruit Khadija 'Bunny' Shaw was sent racist and misogynistic reports after their match against Arsenal, the club announced.
The Super League club for women confirmed in a statement that it has reported the case to the relevant authorities.
Shaw, a Jamaican international, was founded as a 66th minute replacement in their 4-3 loss against Arsenal on Sunday at the Joie Stadium.
“Manchester City was shocked to hear that Khadija” Bunny “Shaw was subject to racist and misogynistic abuse after Sunday's game,” said a club statement.
'Discrimination of any kind, in stadiums or online, is not tolerated and has absolutely no place inside or outside the game.
'Bunny has decided not to share the messages publicly so as not to give the oxygen of publicity to the common people they have sent.
'The content is shared with the authorities.
“An investigation will follow and the club offers our full support to Bunny after the disgusting treatment she received.”
Shaw made her second appearance since December, with the attacker who dwells back from injury.
Her appearance from the bank was her 100th for the club.
The 28-year-old is the record gointcorer of Man City Women, with 86 goals since he was in 2021 in 2021.
Shaw was crowned as the WSL player of the season and Golden Boot winner in the 2023-24 campaign.
She is currently the top scorer in the WSL this season with nine goals in 11 games.
Man City is fourth in the table, two points behind Arsenal after the loss of Sunday against the Gunners.
