Man City set to decide James McAtee’s summer plans during talks with England amid tournament clash

Manchester City is ready for conversations with the football club about the availability of James McATee this summer in the midst of a collision of tournaments.

Mcatee is eligible in the European championship among 21, but the defense of England of their crown coincides with the club World Cup in the United States.

Mail Sport understands that Lee Carsley will hold discussions with City Chiefs in the coming weeks to see if he can call the attacking midfielder.

For the past two years, McATee has been integrally under 21, scored seven goals in 18 performances and blooms next to Liam Delap and Morgan Rogers.

England wants to have the 22-year-old available when they travel to Slovakia for the tournament and start on 12 June against the Czech Republic.

That is the same week as City flies to Miami for a camp for their defense of the world title in the renewed size of 32 teams spread over a month.

Clubs have the power over whether players are released to national teams at age group level.

McATEE said last month that he believes that Pep Guardiola will consider his opinion, although he admitted that he had not decided how he would prefer to represent.
