Manchester City has confirmed that Mary Fowler has sustained a front cruciate ligament injury.
Fowler sustained the injury during the semi-final defeat on Sunday against Manchester United.
The 22-year-old is in excellent form for City this season and leads the Women's Super League for target contributions, with 13, together with Elisabeth Terland, Alessia Russo and teammate Khadija Shaw.
However, the International in Australia will now miss the rest of the city's campaign and probably a lot of the first half of next season.
We can confirm that Mary Fowler has suffered a break on her front cruciate ligament.
Everyone at City wishes her the very best on full and fast recovery.

A district statement was: “Mary remains under the care of the club's medical team and starts her rehabilitation.
“Everyone in the city wishes Mary the very best on full and fast recovery.”
Fowler has given seven assists this period in the WSL, more than any other player.
On average, she came up with a target contribution every 86 minutes.
Fowler joins fellow city stars Lauren Hemp, Risa Shimizu and Alex Greenwood in the suffering of a long-term knee problem.
Star Forwards Vivianne Miedema and Shaw are also out because of hamstring problems.
The Nick Cushing team is in third place seven points behind Man United, and is in danger of missing the qualification of Champions League.
They organize Everton in their next outing.
