Jacob Wright from Manchester City has been on loan in Norwich since January and, despite earlier supplications of Pep Guardiola, wants to make the switch permanent
Jacob Wright, younger in Manchester City, has made it clear that he would like to leave Etihad this summer. The teenager is on loan to promote his development and would like to stay with Norwich, with whom he came in January.
Wright's chances under Pep Guardiola have been very little among them, but the Catalan did not want the 19-year-old Manchester to leave at first. His few minutes came to Spurs in the Carabao Cup in October, but Wright was originally prepared to remain.
In January the midfielder wanted to leave the city to pursue a regular playing time and various championship clubs were enthusiastic. Swansea registered their interest, but Wright eventually went to Carrow Road and now wants to become a Norwich player permanently.
He presented in four of the last six games before the Canaryen, while they want to stick to their promotional hops with a late push in the play-offs. Despite their dip in shape, Wright has made it clear that he would like to stay in Norwich.
He said to the Pink of: “Yes, 100 percent. I am really starting to build something nice in the club. I enjoy it. It is a good family club. I really enjoy the way they play. Hopefully we can get some better results next season. I want to stay for sure, hopefully.
“I really enjoy it and learn a lot of game per game. I work as hard as I can train every day. I insist to start in the start XI from week to week. I feel that I am improving as a player, both on and off the field. I really enjoy it.”
Wright had previously told the men in October that Guardiola's wish to keep him in Manchester was enough to turn his head. However, the teenager played in a very competitive area in the team and although he had claimed that he would stay for the season, it turned out not to be the case.
One of the biggest success stories of Youth this season on the Blue Side of Manchester was James McATEE. He has previously been on loan for Sheffield United, but his minutes have gradually increased under Guardiola and he scored a FA Cup Hattrick against Salford.
Nico O'Reilly is also impressed and he started in the increasing show on Sunday in Manchester Derby after an excellent show in the FA Cup last eight victory in Bournemouth recently. City is set for a summer of massive change after a huge drop -off this season. It has already been confirmed that Kevin De Bruyne will leave as a number of their big names are confronted with uncertain future.
