Nico Gonzalez had a debut to forget in the FA Cup collision of Manchester City with Leyton Orient on Saturday.
Because the city is still recovering from their worst form since his arrival in the club, Pep Guardiola made a number of trips on the transfer market as he wants to strengthen his team.
The last of those new additions was Gonzalez, where the Spanish midfielder became the fourth signing of the January window after completing a £ 50 million switch from Porto earlier this week.
Gonzalez was mentioned in the starting XI while City traveled to Brisbane Road in search of their place in the FA Cup fifth round.
However, the first start of the 23-year-old in his new club would quickly become sour.
With the game level after just 15 minutes, Gonzalez received the ball in the middle of the field and was quickly set up by Orient Forward Sonny Perkins.
Gonzalez quickly became expropriated, where the ball then fell to trace loansee Jamie Donley just after half the line.
Donley then launched a speculative effort, with the strike bouncing from the bar and then the city goalkeeper Stefan Ortega to place the competition one way in the front.
Every hope that Gonzalez could cash in himself was quickly interrupted after the visitors had gone one after the other.
Only a few minutes after the opening goal, Gonzalez was injured and could not continue, with Guardiola Bernardo Silva taking on to take his place in midfield.
After testing repeatedly tested goalkeeper Josh Keeley, City was finally able to draw level in the second half after the shot of Rico Lewis was bent from Abdukodir Khusanov.
