Olympiacos -Tieners Christoph Mouzakitis and Charalampos Kostoulas attract a large number of Premier League clubs, including Manchester United and Arsenal.
Mouzakitis, 18, and Kostoulas, 17, are part of a golden generation in Greek football in which Europe's giants are closely watching.
Mouzakitis led the show earlier this month when Greece won 3-0 in Scotland, while Kostoulas still has to make his senior international debut, but has six goals in 21 games in the Greek domestic competition.
Mouzakitis is a left-wing central midfielder whose playing style is comparable to that of Marco Verratti, the former star Paris Saint-Germain and Italy, as well as his idol Luka Modric.
He was an ordinary Ballboy for matches in the Karaiskakis Stadium of Olympiacos, including the 1-0 defeat by Manchester City in November 2020. When he made his senior debut for Greece against Finland last November, Mouzakitis became the youngest player ever to ever do this.
In the meantime, Kostoulas usually works as a no. 9, but can also play behind the center-forward or on one of the two flanks.
“There is a growing interest in him, but he is an Olympiacos player,” said Olympiacos sports director Darko Kovacevic. “He will certainly stay in Olympiacos this season, and I hope longer.”
Together with United and Arsenal, Aston Villa is supposed to have scouted the couple, both of which have recently signed new contracts with Olympiacos – Mouzakitis until 2029, Kostoulas until 2030.
Another top Greek talent, the 17-year-old attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas, is currently playing for the Belgian club Genk and can move this summer.
Given the duration of their contracts, Olympiacos hope to keep mouzakitis and costoulas at least another season, especially if they compete in the Champions League.
