Man United break TWO unwanted PL records as they limp to humiliating 18th

Manchester United continues to find ways to confuse new depths.

The side of Ruben Amorim started two new club records when they stumbled on a 1-0 defeat on Friday evening in the hands of Chelsea on Stamford Bridge.

Marc Cucurella's header proved the difference after a wonderful assist from Reece James and condemned the Red Devils for a loss of 18th competition.

Ruben Amorim tried to take at least one positive, and said that the implementation will help him to choose his start 11 for the Europa League final against Tottenham this Wednesday, but there were few things to be cheerful in the aftermath of the defeat.

To begin with, Manchester United will end a very first Premier League season without having won back-to-back competitions on every occasion.

Amorim's side has so far only won 10 games – their previous low point was 16 in 2021-22 – and none of these has been consecutive.

Secondly, they have now gone eight games without a Premier League victory for the first time in history.

The Red Devils are on a scorching run of six defeats and two draws in their last eight games, which is the worst run on each side.

Even Southampton, who have hardly avoided being the worst team in the Premier League history, have improved that with three draw in their last eight.

That is in stark contrast to the Europa League form of United, so that they have set up a completely English final with traces after beating athletic Bilbao with 7-1 on total.

Roy Keane tore in Amorim and his players after another setback, and claimed that they missed the required self -confidence to defeat Chelsea.

“The fans here tonight, I don't think they are angry anymore, there is an acceptance,” said Keane.

'Even the manager [Amorim] Is interviewed and he accepts where they are.

'You have to be realistic, but show a little emotion and anger.

“I think Man United fans go back to Manchester tonight and think:” That's probably what we thought would happen “.

“Even the Chelsea manager patronizes them by saying:” They played well, they pressed us, they were dangerous, “they defeated them 1-0 and United had one shot on goal.

“What they do is knocking on her head and leaving:” You're going back to Manchester “, that's what Man United did with teams years ago.”

United could have had a draw after the first half of Harry Maguire, but that was excluded for offside before Cucurella's 71st minute header.
