Man United chief executive Berrada keeps with target of PL title in 2028

The Chief Executive Omar Berrada from Manchester United is holding on to his ambitious target to win the Premier League in 2028 to mark the club's 150 -year anniversary despite a historically bad season for the Ruben Amorim team.

The 20-times English champions have endured their worst top campaign since they were relegated in 1973/74, and ended 15th, 42 points behind Champions Liverpool.

They also lost the Europa League final of Tottenham, which means that they will not have European football next season.

Berrada told the employees of his “Project 150” vision in September last year and scored his goal to win the Premier League and the Women's Super League (WSL) titles in 2028.

While the United men's team has a mountain to climb, the women's side, who have never won the WSL, will have to release Chelsea, which has won the last six titles.

United finished third in the WSL, 16 points behind Champions Chelsea, which she also defeated in the FA Cup final.

But Berrada, formerly Chief Football Operations Officer at Manchester City, believes that a double titles are possible within three years, despite the enormous challenges.

“It has been set a series of goals within a period of time, so that we can concentrate our efforts and energy on that goal,” he said in an interview with the United We Stand Stand Fanzine, which will be published on Wednesday.

“Can the team win the Premier League title by 2028? Of course.

“We are just finished with the 15th and it seems like an impossible task. But why not strive for it? Why not do everything in our power?”

United, in three years, will mark 150 years since the club was founded as Newton Heath in 1878.

They have no longer been crowned English champions since the last season of Alex Ferguson in 2012/13, but Berrada remains confident.

“I am firmly convinced that we can do it. We have two or three summer windows to build a team to start competing to win the Premier League.”
