Man United confirm £8m post-season tour to the Far East – and will fly out straight after final Premier League game

Tours for the season are no longer enough. Tours after the season increase.

Manchester United has announced plans for a tour of two games through the Far East to be completed just a few days after the end of the Premier League season.

The Red Devils will fly out for competitions in Kuala Lumpur and Hong Kong and will leave ATON Villa immediately after their last game of the season.

Mail Sport understands that the club is paid around £ 8 million for the trip.

To start, they will have to deal with Asean-All stars in the 84,000-capacity Bukit Jalil National Stadium in Kuala Lumpur.

On 30 May they will close the trip with a collision against Hong Kong in the Hong Kong Stadium of 40,000 capacity.

However, that competition would clash with the date for the local FA Cup final in the Mong Kok Stadium.

Tasting are behind the Tour, which is presented by Snapdragon.

United is obliged to release their players for International Service on 31 May, where qualifications of Nationale League and World Cup are played at the beginning of June.

The Portugal of Bruno Fernandes, for example, has a semi-final showdown with Germany with Germany on 4 June.

They are not the first club to do this and they will not be the last one. Tottenham and Newcastle were criticized for playing a collision after the season on 22 May in Australia last year. On the other hand, 78,419 fans that they would usually not see live came on the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Gareth Southgate, the then manager of England, was concerned about the European championship. “Financially Fair Play means that clubs have to generate their own money, so we are in a bizarre world where more money is in the game than ever before, and yet everyone talks about federations and clubs to generate more money,” he said.

'The normal way to do that is by playing more games. So is that great news for us, in terms of preparation? No.'

Even Toon's Kieran Trippier admitted that it was 'far from ideal'.

Manchester United wrote in a statement: 'The club visited Kuala Lumpur in 2009 for the last time and Hong Kong in 2013, but the bond between United and the millions of loyal fans of the club in Asia remains as strong as always.

“The matches in May offer a unique opportunity for players and staff to make direct contact with fans in Asia, and for the club to activate with his appreciated commercial partners in the region.”

Chief Executive Omar Berrada said: 'We appreciate the amazing level of support that Manchester United enjoys all over the world and this summer we are delighted to deliver a schedule that our fans in Asia, Scandinavia and the United States offer the opportunity to make contact with the club and the first team of the men play in local institutions.

'It is important that touring arms generate considerable extra income that makes the club stronger, so that we can continue to invest in success on the field.

“They also create unique opportunities for us to collaborate with our valued commercial partners and to deepen relationships with our fans in regions such as Asia and the US.”
