Man United director to LEAVE role and move to new position as turnover at Old Trafford under Sir Jim Ratcliffe continues

Jean-Claude Blanc has fallen as director of Manchester United, but will continue to play an active role in the running of the club.

Blanc is Chief Executive of Ineos Sport and has been involved with United since the £ 1.3 billion investment by Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the club, including filling in as an interim -ceo at Old Trafford.

Together with Sir Dave Brailsford, he was involved in many of the changes under the supervision of the co-owners of United and the transformation of the Carrington Training Complex.

United confirmed on Monday that the Frenchman is taking his position as a director, but will continue to play a valuable role as head of international football springs and special adviser to the board.

It is understood that Blanc will concentrate on the international relationships of United with FIFA, UEFA and the European Club Association on which he holds a board position, as well as in the UEFA -ECA joint venture.

A club statement was: “Jean-Claude Blanc has taken his position as director of Manchester United Football Club, but he will continue to play an active role in the management of the club in his new position as head of international football relationships and special adviser to the board.”

A former chief executive at Juventus and marketing manager at Paris Saint-Germain, it is clear that Blanc will remain as CEO of Ineos Sport.
