The Glazer family does not intend to attend the funeral of Man United Legend Denis Law, according to reports.
Law, who revealed in August 2021 that the Alzheimer's and vascular dementia was diagnosed with him, died at the age of 84 in January.
He is the third highest goal scorer of all time behind Wayne Rooney and Charlton with 237 in 404 games, and the joint top scorer of Scotland with 30 goals of his 55 caps.
Nevertheless, reports claim that no members of the Glazer family will be present at the funeral of the law – which takes place on Tuesday in the Cathedral of Manchester.
The daring decision comes after the glazers were bent by United fans because they had not sent a representative to the funeral of Sir Bobby Charlton in 2023.
It was said at the time that the owners of the club stayed away from the service in the Cathedral of Manchester because they did not want to cause distraction.
But at the time, fans described the no-show of the glazers as another 'embarrassing example' of the lack of empathy of the owners with United.
In the meantime, the law started his career at Huddersfield Town, had two spells in Manchester City and also played for Torino in Italy.
He became a balloon d'Or winner in 1964, and won the European Cup, two English titles and the FA Cup in his 11 years at Old Trafford.
United has also issued a statement and said: 'Everyone at Manchester United mourns for the loss of Denis Law, the king of the Stretford End, who died, 84 years old.
'With 237 goals in 404 performances, he will always be celebrated as one of the largest and most beloved players in the club.
'The ultimate target scorer, his flair, spirit and love for the game made him the hero of a generation. Our deepest condolences go to the Van Denis family and many friends. His memory will live on forever. '
The law was the sixth member of the United Squad who won the European Cup under Sir Matt Busby to suffer from dementia.
Charlton, who died in October 2023, Nobby Stiles, Tony Dunne, David Herd and Bill Foulkes were also diagnosed before their death.
Former United Captain Bryan Robson led the law to the law at the time and said: “We lost one of the giants of football, both as a player and a gentleman. It is incredibly sad.
“Denis was more than just a fantastic football player, he was a fantastic man. So generous with his time and everything delivered with that great sense of humor of his.
“He would always be in my greatest Manchester United XI. He was a player who, so much of his colleagues, and for good reason, that iconic image of him pulled down with his sleeves and greeting one arm after scoring.
'I was a bit nervous when I first met him when I came to the club, like Sir Bobby Charlton. But I had even more respect for Denis as soon as I met him. He was just so warm in his welcome and I immediately had an esteem for the man he was and the personality he had.
'I was lucky to work with him for so many events in an ambassador and that bad sense of humor, regardless of the occasion, always shone. He was always so full of life and invariably with a cup of tea in his hand.
“Nobody could represent where Manchester United was better than him: full of flair on the field and a gentleman off.”
