Man United plan to capitalise on bizarre Ronald Araujo transfer loophole

Ronald Araujo was still able to continue from Barcelona this summer, despite signing a contract extension at the beginning of 2025.

The Uruguay International was sure to leave Catalonia for Juventus during the January transfer window, but important conversations with manager Hansi Flick and a new contract offer from sports director Deco changed thoughts.

After weeks of negotiations with his representatives, a deal was eventually established and he renewed his contract with the La Liga leaders until 2031.

That seemed to put an end to the long -term speculation that he could be sold, in the midst of rumors that it would be loaded to bring a transfer budget increasing costs, to make new signing sessions possible in 2025.

The second half of the campaign, however, has changed its position again, with Pau Cubarsi and Inigo Martinez firmly installed as Hansi Flick's first choice center -back -pairs.

Araaujo is frustrated by his lack of fame, despite the fact that he still plays a regular role, because Barcelona is fighting three fronts.

That could reopen the starting door with the new Arajo deal with a release clause of € 1 billion, but with an 'emergency clause' of € 65-70 million that is subject to strict terms.

A temporary clause, for the above price, will only be valid from 1 to 10 July, when the value is then reset to € 1 billion.

That gives interested parties a quick -fire chance to make an offer because Barcelona wants to prevent potential interest from draging to the preseason, and Manchester United can revive their interest.

Ruben Amorim is said to be a fan of Araujo because he wants to bring in a new defensive leader in Old Trafford according to Football 365.

The Portuguese coach will receive a budget to spend in the coming months, after the gloomy domestic campaign from United, but if they can guarantee the qualification of the UEFA Champions League by winning the Europa League, that would be a pull factor.
