
Marc Skinner has signed a new contract to stay the head coach of Manchester United until the summer of 2027, with the option of an extra year.
Since the arrival at the club in 2021, Skinner United has led to the first big honor of the club in women's football with the FA Cup 2024, after completing the second place the previous season.
His team also reached a second placed finish in the Women's Super League of 2022-23, where he first secured a place in the UEFA Women's Champions League. In 119 games as head coach, Skinner has a profit ratio of almost 65 percent.
He said: “It has been an absolute privilege to serve as a head coach for this fantastic football club for the past four years, and I am delighted to extend my time in the role for at least two years.
“We are building a young, hungry team with the aim of consistently challenging for further trophies.
“There is more hard work in front of the bow, including this season, but the players and employees have shown all their determination to succeed, and I look forward to taking the next steps in our journey together.”
The technical director of Manchester United, Jason Wilcox, said: “The record of Marc since taking the leadership speaks for himself, after they have delivered our first large women's silence work and have been firmly established under the leading teams in the WSL.
“After a big overhaul last summer, we have an exciting development team ready to compete for further success, and we are convinced that Marc is the right coach to lead that process.”
Manchester United Chief Operating Officer Collette Roche added: “Building a successful and popular women's team is an important part of our broader football first strategy for the club.
“We appreciate the contribution that Marc has already made to that goal, and we are delighted that he will continue to play a key role in the drive to bring Manchester United at the forefront of growth in women's game.”
