Kobbie Mainoo is contrary to returning to the Old Trafford Derby on Sunday after two months out of operation, has confirmed Manchester United Baas Ruben Amorim.
Matthijs de Ligt, however, is in doubt after picking up a knock in the defeat of Tuesday against Nottingham Forest on the city.
Mainoo has been sidelined since he hung from the FA Cup victory at Leicester City in Old Trafford at the beginning of February.
But Amorim said: 'I think Kobbie will return to training, so we will see and judge him for this game. He can't play a full game.
“I think Matthijs is a problem, he has something in the (forest) game and we have to judge.”
Mason Mount returned to the forest after three and a half months because he got into the Etihad in the last Manchester Derby in the last Manchester Derby in mid -December, but Amorim is careful with the overloading of a player whose united career is plagued by fitness problems.
He added: 'It is best not to speak too much about it. Let Mason often mount the train, get the load in his body and forgets because the mind is sometimes more important than the body. He can start, but we still have to manage his minutes. '
Amorim will resist the temptation to rotate his team prior to next Thursday's trip to Lyon in the quarterfinals first stage of the Europa League that represents United this season, and a chance to return to the Champions League.
“We're going to concentrate the game,” he said. 'We have a few to recover from the last game and then a focus in that department will be the next in the Premier League.
“We want to win this game, we want to improve in the competition table and especially we want to win games.”
