United will be looking for a wing player, with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho and Antony, who would all be expected to make permanent movements in the summer after they were allowed to leave Old Trafford on loan.

In the meantime, Arsenal also looks at the 25-year-old while Mikel Arteta wants to strengthen his forward line. The Gunners were found in attack this season after the will of Gabriel Jesus, Kai Havertz and Bukayo Saka were all serious injuries.

And Arteta admitted that he was 'disappointed' by the failure of Arsenal to bring in an attacker in the January transfer window. “We had a clear intention that is that a window is open,” said Arteta last month.

“For the players who can influence it, we have not achieved it. We are disappointed. But we are very aware that we only want to take certain types of players with us.

“The intention to improve the team if we have the ability to do it. We focus on the things we have to keep doing. It was a combination of things.”

Arteta, however, admitted that their lack of signing sessions in January should give them more space this summer, and added: “An extra card! I don't know what I mean about that is the resources that can make us much better financially.”
