Manchester United would like to sign RB Leipzig -Preserved Benjamin Sesko, but they are confronted with a battle with Newcastle United for his signature
Stuart Pearce looked back on his experience as a football manager and offered one cruel fact that all clubs have to remember – most players and their families want to live in London, Manchester and other major cities in the UK.
Manchester United has successfully protected the services of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo this summer this summer. Ruben Amorim is also looking for a new striker, with Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa and RB Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko High on their list.
Since Alexander Isak Newcastle United inquired that he would like to leave, the Magpies have been linked to a relocation for Sesko. The side of Eddie Howe is able to offer Champions League football and the involvement in a football project that has collected an enormous amount of momentum.
But although United is not in Europe's Elite Cup competition next season, Pearce believes that Manchester's lively city life still offers clubs such as United with a negotiating ship when attracting players. “I discovered through my experience as a manager in the Premier League that players want to play in the Champions League,” Pearce told the Manchester Event News. “That is a large part of what they want to do.
“That's the first (they ask).” Are you in the Champions League? ” Many players want to be close to the big cities.
“You fight, geographically, if you are in Newcastle and that is just the nature of the mentality of a football player, I am afraid. They can be attracted by whether they also have friends at other clubs, or friends of their wives and families are a large part of it.
“There are many things to contend with. Even more than what you see in front of your eyes on some occasions.”
United seems to be engaged in a transfer report with Newcastle for Sesko's services. The promising Slovenian is one of the most coveted prospects in Europe and had previously drawn the eye of Arsenal, before the Gunners shifted their focus to secure Viktor Gyokeres from sporty CP.
The summer actions of Newcastle hint that they might fight a tough fight in their pursuit of Sesko. Although they have safeguarded former United wing player Anthony Elanga from Nottingham Forest for £ 55 million, the majority of their priority goals have rejected the Club's claims.
Joao Pedro, Mbeumo, Liam Delap, Cunha and, most recently, James Trafford were all praised by the Magpies, but chose member of Chelsea, United and Manchester City. Now the Magpies – who participate in the Champions League – are confronted with the prospect of losing Star Striker Isak.
Saudi-Arabic Outfit Al-Hilal and Liverpool are the leading contenders for his services. The player is said to have a colossal price tag of approximately £ 150 million, which would make him the most expensive Premier League of all time, at a great distance.
Isak was particularly absent during the pre-season tour from Newcastle to Asia with his teammates. Howe has consistently maintained that the star is not on the market, but admits that his influence on the situation is limited.
He recently said: “He is still our player. He has contracted us. We have checked to a certain extent what the next one is for him. I would like to believe that all possibilities are still available to us. My wish is that he remains, but that is not under my complete control.”
