Man Utd break golden transfer rule after deciding between Sesko and Watkins

Benjamin Sesko has emerged as the primary transfer target of Manchester United after he has decided not to pursue Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, who has more top flight experience, but is five years older than the RB Leipzig star

Manchester United has crossed their transfer rule to choose Premier League experience this summer after he decided to chase Red Bull Leipzig Benjamin Sesko.

Ruben Amorim is desperate to equip his wrestling side with proven English Top-Flight talent after the Red Devils finished 15th in the Premier League last season.

He has already added Wolves star Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, but neither players can play as an out-and-out center Forward-en Amorim has not been impressed by the versions of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee.

Cunha showed how important he can be as an impact player last year, because he almost saved wolves on his own from relegation with 15 strikes in the top flight, while Mbeumo blinded with 20 goals for the bees.

But signing Sesko would not follow the same trend and would be a somewhat risky move for a player who only proved himself in the Bundesliga.

United was previously planning to go another Premier League star to worry about Ollie Watkins from Aston Villa, but they have deterred the asking price of £ 60 million from the English man.

Watkins was the preferred option of United this summer after packing 16 goals for Villa last season, but they have now decided to go against their own policy by going all the way for Sesko.

The Slovenia international has emerged as one of the most promising talents in Europe in the past seasons after shooting in 39 goals for the German side in the last two seasons.

He was previously strongly connected to Arsenal before the Gunners chose to pick up Amorim's former sporty Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres for £ 63.5 million and that has now cleared the way for United to secure Sesko.

It is understood that United has opened informal conversations with Leipzig about Sesko, but still has to make an official offer.

He was seen as a much more feasible option than Watkins because, although he is priced in the same way as the 29-year-old, he is much younger in 22 and represents the long-term value.

However, it will not be clear to United in their pursuit of Newcastle. Newcastle is also enthusiastic about the player after Liverpool has wrapped them on the signing of Hugo Ekitike, with the magpies who are concerned about losing Alexander Isak on the Reds.

Newcastle could offer Isak Champions League football, but United showed with their signing sessions from Cunha and Mbeumo that they still have a large club trap, even though they don't have Europe.
