The winter transfer window is closed insofar as the income in Manchester United goes, but the exit door of Old Trafford remains open.
Ruben Amorim was only able to welcome two new signing sessions, £ 30 million left back Patrick Dorgu and the 18-year-old Arsenal defender Ayden Heaven. United fans had cited the club to sign a striker, but after missing the Mathys Tel from Bayern Munich to Tottenham, the Red Devils chose to strengthen Amorim's forward line.
The 13th in the Premier League table after the humiliating 2-0 defeat of Sunday at home at Crystal Palace, United will have to do without further additions until the summer. However, Amorim can continue to streamline his team by losing players to countries where the transfer window is still open.
There have already been a number of controversial departure, with Marcus Rashford and Antony completing the loan movements to Aston Villa and Real Betis. In the meantime, young people are Ethan Ennis, Joe Hugill, Ethan Williams, Ethan Wheatley, Jack Kingdon, Dan Gore, Sam Mather and Louis Jackson are all lent to clubs in the League One, League Two or the National League.
But United is not finished sanctioning loan deviations, because Tyrell Malacia undergoes a medical before he becomes a member of PSV Eindhoven. This is due to Deadline Day in the Netherlands that is Tuesday. PSV is expected to close the deal soon and they will probably have the option to sign Malacia permanently in the summer, whereby the arrival of Dorgu will leave the Dutchman the pecking order.
The Eredivisie transfer window that remains open also means that there is still a chance that Christian Eriksen could again be at the former club Ajax, after he had made his name there as a young person. Ajax Sporting Director Marijn Beuker confirmed in September that the club had investigated a movement for the midfielder, whose contract with United ends in June.
If one of the players of United has a move to Turkey in the coming days, they still have a week to develop one. The Super Lig window will close next Tuesday 11 February and several Red Devils stars are tipped to connect with their former managers.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer recently looks at Besiktas and although he did not work with Casemiro at Old Trafford, the 32-year-old was associated with a switch to Istanbul. Rivals Fenerbahce, who are managed by another ex-sizing boss in Jose Mourinho, is also claimed that they are interested in Casemiro, although his enormous wages of £ 350,000 a week can be a large stumbling block. Victor Lindelof is another player who has been tipped for a reunion with Mourinho.
Other windows that have not yet been closed include Portugal's Primeira Liga and the A-League in Australia, with both set to SLAM SLAM on February 4. In North America, the MLS-Transfervars star is only open on Friday and does not close until April 23.
United may have to make serious compromises during the negotiations, although clubs around the world know how desperate they are to reduce their expenses for wages and to earn back any form of transfer costs. Old Trafford Chiefs recently confirmed that they are in danger of violating the Premier League profit and sustainability rules.
It may have been a frustrating window thanks to a lack of new signing sessions, but there is still time for the Red Devils to balance the books and to ensure that Amorim's first summer is a lot more exciting.
