Manchester United is in urgent need for a dramatic rebuilding after a miserable season under Ruben Amorim and despite the fact that she does not seal a return to the Champions League, a lucrative summer could be on the cards
Manchester United has a huge summer ahead of what a tragic season has been. The Red Devils ended a low 15th in the Premier League after lost 18 games during the campaign.
They also failed to seal an unlikely return to the Champions League, because they lost in the Europa League final of Tottenham earlier this month. That seemed to be a huge blow to the hope of United on a huge rebuild this summer.
But that can be somewhat premature, with club heads already drawing up elevated plans for the coming summer transfer window. United could choose to spend heavily in the coming months to strengthen their side, with a series of lucrative signing sessions that may be in the pipeline.
So, what could Ruben Amorim's side look like on the first day of next season?
Mirror Football takes a look at the crystal ball …
Starting in Doel there is a debate about the future of Andre Onana. The keeper of Cameroon has been destroyed by a series of mistakes since his arrival with big money from Inter Milan. And United was able to move him further in the midst of interest from Saudi and Raid relegated Leicester for Mads Hermansen. The DANE shone in the Midlands in the past two seasons and may be available for around £ 35 million.
In the defense, the Red Devils look pretty good. They spent enormous costs to Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt last summer and the couple seems to be an important part of the defense.
The same can also be said of Lisandro Martinez, who probably seems to recover from the serious knee injury he picked up earlier this season. Patrick Dorgu must also stay in the side despite a slow start of life at Old Trafford. A number of defenders could therefore leave the club, including Tyrell Malacia, Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof – the last two who have already confirmed their departure.
However, midfield can look very different next season. Atalanta -midfielder Ederson has long been associated with a move to the Premier League, with Liverpool among the interested parties. United could muscles on the interest of their rivals, but it will not be cheap with the Serie A side that has placed a price tag of £ 63 million on the Brazilian. Manuel Ugarte seems to be an important player among Ruben Amorim – especially in games where that larger level of midfield transplant, instead of craft, is required, after acclimatisation to life in the Premier League.

But remain questioning about Casemiro, despite his impressive impressions towards the end of the season. With regard to other outputs in midfield, Christian Eriksen has already left, while the future of Kobbie Mainoo stays in the air. Bruno Fernandes could also be among those to leave – although Amorim and United Chiefs will be desperate to keep the Portuguese playmaker in the midst of serious interest from Saudi -Arabia.
The season of United, this period, really stumbled because of their lack of target threat and that could see the club transform their front line. On-Loan stars Antony, Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho could all be sold permanently.
They can be accompanied by Alejandro Garnacho, Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee when you leave. The first attacking signing of the new era seems to be on Wolves star Matheus Cunha, who will probably put the pen on paper at Old Trafford after United had activated a release clause of £ 62.5 million in his deal.
He can also be accompanied by fellow Premier League star Bryan Mbeumo. Reports have suggested that the Red Devils have opened conversations for a £ 50 million deal for the 20-target attacker, but they could be confronted with competition from Newcastle.
Finally, a new central striker could be on the agenda for United. Liam Delap is one of the goals, although Chelsea seems to be improving in the race for the Ipswich star.
United could possibly see their sights move to Victor Osimhen, who spent Galatasaray last season. And he could be available for only £ 51 million this summer. He would be the ideal replacement to solve the target problem of the club after another brilliant campaign.
Potential Man United XI: Hermansen; Yoro, De Ligt, Martinez; Dalot, Ederson, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo, Cunha; Osimhen.
