Man Utd face £20m Marcus Rashford bill after Unai Emery reveals transfer stance

Marcus Rashford enjoys a positive loan in Aston Villa after scoring twice and helping four under Unai Emery, who still has to confirm whether the club will permanently sign it this summer.

Aston Villa -Baas Unai Emery has admitted that he did not think about whether Marcus Rashford would sign for the club this summer, where Manchester United would be confronted with a £ 20 million bill when he leaves. Rashford enjoys an impressive loan in Villa and scored a brace against Preston in the quarterfinals of the FA Cup.

Rashford shows a glimpse of his old self under Emery, which led to talking that Villa could use their option to buy it for £ 40 million at the end of the season. But Emery played back when he was asked about the future of Rashford in the aftermath of his Salvo with two goals against Preston.

“Not yet,” said Emery. “The most important thing is the challenge now and this afternoon, recovering and then preparing for the game against Brighton tomorrow.

“Yet there are many matches to play. If we are in the Champions League, when we are in the Europa League, when we are in the European Conference League or not in Europe or win a trophy, it is completely different.

“A decision about every individual players … It is to get the best of them and the best of us. We don't want to waste time thinking.”

The 27-year-old now has two goals and four assists since he came to the Villans in January and he enjoys regular starts that led to a recall in England.

United is anxiously waiting for a decision about the future of Rashford in the knowledge that every scenario will be expensive for them, but if he left, they are confronted with the prospect of paying the rest of his £ 325,000 a week.

It is unlikely that Villa could afford to pay him the entire lucrative salary package, so United could be forced to pay Rashford an amount that would rise to £ 20 million – reducing the profit they would receive for the Academy graduated.

Jim Ratcliffe, football chef from United, has already discussed the enormous repayments they have to make this summer, which amount to around £ 89 million – including for Andre Onana, Antony, Jadon Sancho and Rasmus Hojlund.

Rashford's current deal at Old Trafford runs until 2028 after he had agreed a contract extension in 2023, but after his row, honoring that deal looks increasingly unlikely with Amorim, who accused the player of “not giving the maximum” in training.

The 27-year-old came to the club of seven years and was made 426 performances for the Red Devils, and scored 138 times.
