Manchester United are among the clubs that are interested in Ipswich star Liam Delap, but Everton has become the newest side connected to the former striker in Manchester City
Manchester United is confronted with more competition in the race to sign Liam Delap, making Everton the newest club that focuses on the Ipswich striker. Although Ipswich seems to be exiled to the championship, Delap enjoyed a Breakout Premier League campaign.
This season, the 22-year-old scored 12 goals in 30 games in front of Kieran McKenna, after he arrived at Ipswich from Manchester City last summer for a fee of around £ 15 million. Delap had only made two top competitions before he signed with Ipswich, after he had previously spent a time-out in the championship with Hull, Preston and Stoke.
As a result of his impressive form and a clause in his contract that will make him available for £ 30 million when Ipswich drops, Delap is interested in a number of clubs. This summer United was reportedly made their top -attacking target, with Ruben Amorim at a big overhaul of a large team.
Mirror Football understands that United hopes to collect around £ 200 million by unwanted players such as Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony, Tyrell Malacia, Casemiro, Andre Onana and Alejandro Garnacho to Bankroll Amorim's rebuilded.
However, the will of Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Newcastle are previously linked to Delap and a new report from the Sun Claims that Everton is preparing for the race for his services.
It is claimed that Toffees boss David Moyes will have money to give a new attacker this summer, with the future of Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the club in the air with his contract due to the end of the season.
The report states that Moyes likes to wait in the hope that other clubs will focus on other players instead of Delap and Everton give a genuine opportunity to get their husbands.
It is also said of Moyes that the movements for Liverpool -wing player Ben Doak, Burnley -defender Maxime Esteve and Sunderland -younger Chris Rigg will monitor.
Everton may also have to sell some players this summer, but Moyes has insisted that he wants to keep Jarrad Branthwaite. The center-back is again interested in United, but Moyes has issued a warning.
“You should not forget that Jarrad Branthwaite is left of his contract for another three years,” he said reporters. “You have two years and a year option, so if there is something, Everton keeps all the cards with regard to that player.
“I also have to say during the trip for many years I had with Everton, we had to sell different players from Wayne Rooney to Mikel Arteta and Joleon Lescott.
“It is part of being a football manager, especially at certain clubs, you also have to sell on the trip to try to build. But I would not think that Jarrad is one that I would like to lose. That is certain.”
