Manchester United have confirmed another January transfer as Ruben Amorim looks to bring in his own players.
The Red Devils need to sell players to bring in more for the rest of the season. Amid the desire to sell, United have already confirmed that some of the club's most promising youngsters have gone on loan.
Striker Ethan Ennis is the latest to sign a temporary contract elsewhere. The 20-year-old has signed a loan deal with Doncaster Rovers until the end of the season.
'Ever since I heard that Grant [McCann] was interested in signing me, it was something I was really interested in,” Ennis said. “When I came down and met the manager and the rest of the lads I was really excited. He thinks I can fit in with the way the team plays, bring my qualities to the team and that goes hand in hand. Hopefully it will be a success.”
Ennis has been with United since joining from fierce rivals Liverpool as a 16-year-old. He is yet to make his first-team debut but has scored 10 goals in 15 games for the Under-21s this season.
Ennis' Doncaster debut could come this weekend in an FA Cup tie with Hull. Amid his departure, United are keen to recruit a new striker with PSG star Randal Kolo-Muani among the players on their shortlist.
Speaking about possible deals in the coming weeks, United boss Amorim said: “The first thing I think is… I don't remember saying clearly that I want new players.
“What I said is that sometimes the profile for this system is different, and the players came here with a different idea of how to play. So I don't remember saying that so clearly, that I want new players .What I said is that we need to improve recruitment.
“When we target players, we have to be sure that they can meet the demands. Sometimes you have to gamble a little bit. And what I also said is that we have to improve our academy, to bring young kids who can help the club to organize in the right way, and also with those rules we can do some business and have some money to invest in the team.
“Our idea is always to keep the best players and the players we are building for this club. But we know the position the club is in at the moment, but we will see. I am very happy, I love our players.” especially the boys from our academy. My players are always my favorites.
