Man Utd get major transfer boost as new Viktor Gyokeres plan comes to light

Manchester United throws everything at Landing Viktor Gyokeres in the summer – and they can eventually pay £ 20 million less for him than in January.

The Red Devils had a fairly quiet winter transfer window, with a £ 25 million deal for Lecce Wing-back Patrick Dorgu their biggest edition. However, they did, however, also consider making a move for Gyokees early.

The 25-year-old Sweden star was a huge hit among the current boss of United, Ruben Amorim, in Portugal. And he has already been identified as the man who is able to get the goals that United needs to put himself back to the position for the biggest prizes in football.

A step in January for Gyokeres would have been logical in view of the poor 2024-25 campaign of United -but they will save a huge sum of money by keeping fire.

As described by the i -paper, it is estimated that a fee of £ 83 million would have been needed to remove Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon in the January transfer window.

United, however, is hopeful that they will be able to land Sporting's Star Striker for closer to £ 60 million, in which the Portuguese champions have already resigned in losing Gyokeres, which they broke out for nothing from Coventry City for nothing.

Gyokeres has become one of the most productive strikers in Europe since leaving the championship and currently has a remarkable goals-to-game ratio that is in just 83 outings 77 strikes.

While Gyokees already has 22 league goals this period, both senior strikers from United in Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee have difficulty finding the back of the net.

Zirkzee, a summer signature by Bologna, has only three league goals to his name, while Hojlund has only scored twice in the league. The fact that Amorim Kobbie Mainoo played – a midfielder of trade – for the duo as a false nine in the 2-0 loss of United against Crystal Palace during the weekend speaks volumes.

This season, United has only scored 28 goals in 24 games in the Premier League, while Amorim and Co try to guide the Red Devils to a respectable finish.

It is intriguing that another striker coveted by Manchester United, Harry Kane, has a release block of about £ 54 million in his contract, which could be activated in January in January, United must decide to change course for what reason then also.
