Bruno Fernandes admitted that Manchester United “never suffered” after their 4-1 defeat by Newcastle United.
The side of Ruben Amorim was surpassed in St. James' Park by their floating hosts, who raised their Champions League qualifying qualification by climbing to fourth place.
The Red Devils were the same on the break after Alejandro Garnacho had canceled the earlier Volley of Sandro Tonali.
However, Newcastle found another acceleration after the restart. Harvey Barnes scored twice, while Bruno Guimaraes bounced a mistake by goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to add further shine to the score.
The 14 League Nedergagen from United this season is their joint highest count in a single Premier League campaign, and also loses 14 matches in previous term. The Red Devils suffered more defeats in a top campaign in 1989-90 (16 in 38 games) for the last time.
United fell to 14th place, seven points on drift of the top half, and Fernandes could not hide his frustration with the current situation on his part.
“There is not much to judge, we have lost the game,” he told Sky Sports. “We did well in the first half. In the second half we couldn't keep track of the way we wanted to play.
“We know that it has been a difficult season, nothing to add to that. Our position in the table is not where this club belongs, but unfortunately we don't get the results.
“We are in this position because we have not been consistent in the performances that we have postponed. We have not been fearlessly, more brave. Today was not the case because we finally admitted goals by trying to be brave.

“It is easy to criticize because this club has never suffered, so it's normal. You have to know that you are playing for United and there will be criticism.”
United's attention now focuses on their seasonal Europe League quarterfinals second stage against Lyon on Thursday.
The competition offers a potential route to the Champions League if the Red Devils continue and cancel the trophy, and Fernandes hopes that he and his teammates can give the club's supporters to cheer around.
“Our fans have been there all season during bad moments,” he added. “Today they were there at the end to cheer us up. It is time for us to give something back.
“I know how difficult it is to represent this club. [The players] I want to give so much to the club to win, because they know how much they will be reminded if they win something with this club.
“We have to watch out when a big game is coming. We have to free up our heads and go for it. We have to be on the front foot and give everything we have, because we want to go to the semi -final.
“At difficult moments we did great performances against the biggest clubs – in decisive games when everyone watches. We are man united, we have to get up and do everything to win the game.”
