Man Utd head coach Ruben Amorim’s miserable first season hinges on Europa League but sacking is inconceivable

The first season of Ruben Amorim as the boss of Manchester United now depends on the success of the Europa League, but he remains safe in the role, with a looting for less than five months in his term of office.

Amorim inherited a united side who lived in the Premier League in the 14th and the team remains in the same position and has not achieved in 11 of the 16 top matches in 11 of the 16 top matches since his appointment.

United also stopped from the Carabao Cup and FA Cup Under Amorim and are now the task of going back to ways against Real Sociedad in the first stage of their knockout tie on Thursday, before he organized Arsenal three days later, live on Sky Sports.

But this, especially with so much pressure and noise around the situation, can be easier said than done than done.

There is great deflation after the FA Cup output to Fulham. Players hoped that the competition could offer a glimpse of joy and goal to the second half of the campaign, which now depends on the more discouraging prospect of the Europa League.

The vote in general has been miserable around the club in the light of the fired staff who took place, the upcoming job and the return of almost everything that was offered to non-playing employees. To see football, only things worse.

The only clear guideline from now until the end of the season is “the difficult moments survive” and there has been a framing that has to reach United to go to the summer and to review from there.

But when Sky Sports News Amorim asked if he had received guarantees about what he could do in the summer transfer window and the size of the reconstruction that would be possible, he said there was none.

The Europa League has gained a towering significance for United Financial, emotionally and for offering hope on the current path. Amorim still has to sell his beliefs to the team, to supporters and to the hierarchy.

It has been noted that, unlike Erik ten Hag, there has been no public aid statement for the Portuguese head coach.

However, it is unthinkable that United would pull the tractor on a man they would communicate in the middle season. The expectation is that they will have to support him heavily in every possible way, but that is complicated by their situation of profit and sustainability rules.

In the summer there must be a serious shedding of the team – for considerable costs – to enable United to make a dent in the mountain of work they have to do. If you do not do this, they will be the risk of a different season of disappointment, or worse.

Obi impressive but omitted from Europe Squad

A radiant light for United in recent weeks that the club could also save millions if its current process continues, the rise of the 17-year-old attacker Chido Obi but this will not help them in Europe.

OBI made his debut for the first team 10 days after the deadline for submitting changes to Europa League -Squadrons that have been passed on and has since made an impression in his short cameee against Fulham during the Cup defeat in Old Trafford last weekend.

Coaches are impressed by his appetite to start duels, to use his physicality to make his marker better and the desire to create good positions for himself in the box.

There is still a roughness in his decision -making, which Amorim called “naive”, but this is seen as a normal part of the age development.

Sky Sports News has been informed that OBI is blessed with “great ambition and a big mindset to work for what he wants”, which only contributes to the dissatisfaction that he cannot show these talents against Real Sociedad, after the club had not added him to their revised squadron list for the Knock -out stages.

United ensures that he does not overload him with pressure and responsibility, but there is an acceptance that if he continues to force the opportunities and makes things happen in his cameies, there will be a desire to see him start for Rasmus Hojlund, who has not scored in 18 competitions.

His gradual relaxation to the first team of football will continue in an attempt to build up the necessary exposure, so that he can consistently perform on time at the highest level.

There may be a balance between not wanting to rush to not want to hurry things with OBI, but also to remove Hojlund from the shooting line.

Some believe that the presence of the teenager could generate something in Hojlund, who currently has no confidence and ceases to show the attributes that are more likely for his game.

Merson: I can't see man utd that Sociedad beats

Without OBI in the team, an already struggling united team – which since the 1-0 win against Fulham has scored only one league goal from Open Play at the end of January – will be instructed to go back to winning ways in the Reale Arena on Thursday before he hosted Arsenal on Sky Sports on this Sunday.

The discouraging journey to Sociedad, which is currently ninth in Laliga, arrives four days after the non -inspiring view against Fulham and Sky Sports' Paul Merson is struggling to see a way for success for Amorim's team.

'I watched the game [vs Fulham] And don't know what I'm looking at, “he said.

“I can't remember having a shot or something. Other than the goal of Bruno Fernandes, what a brilliant goal was, I can't remember anything. There is nothing there.

“The entire Fulham team comes to the United team and over the years, none of them would do that. I don't know if they beat real sociedad, I just can't see it.

“I don't see it with Man Utd, I think it's worried.

“It is a payback time for the terrible signing sessions they have had for the past four or five years. I don't mind Fernandes, he will always try to go up the ball. His goal was very good, but he is not a center-Midfield player.

“You have to play to the power of the players and not the power of yourself. This is not working at the moment. It is a fact.

“He is only young, but top managers are adaptable and train what they have to do. I have seen Jose Mourinho make a replacement after 20 minutes.

“He plays on the power of himself and not the players he has. It is a big mess and I don't know where it will change.”
