Man Utd hit by Bruno injury scare as worrying picture emerges of Portuguese
Bruno Fernandes shocked Man United fans as he limped out of the 4-0 win over Everton before being spotted wearing an ice pack.
The Man United captain scored two goals in the romp to overtake Man City's Bernardo Silva and record the most Premier League assists (46) for a Portuguese.
It looked like a perfect afternoon for Man United as both Marcus Rashford and Joshua Zirkzee each scored twice to give manager Ruben Amorim his first Premier League win.
The three points move Man United to ninth place and just four points off fourth place in a crowded Premier League table.
Amorim's side have gained momentum with two straight wins and Fernandes is back to his best after a slow start to the season.
But Fernandes' afternoon ended prematurely when he was sent off for Alejandro Garnacho in the 66th minute. And the 30-year-old was then pictured with an ice pack on his ankle.
With just three days until an intimidating trip to Arsenal on Wednesday, the sight would have been a concern for Amorim, who will be desperate to have his captain – and most creative player – available.
The Gunners are in second place and looked in top form themselves after putting West Ham to the sword 5-2 on Saturday.
So it would have been a relief for Amorim to see that his captain could at least come onto the pitch with his teammates after the match to greet the home fans at Old Trafford.
