Man Utd in battle with five clubs as Ruben Amorim plots surprise transfer move

Manchester United is preparing for a busy window in the summer transfer, in which Ruben Amorim looks at a new second -choice keeper and signing sessions in midfield – but that is not all

Manchester United has joined the race to sign a new center-back less than a year after a shy of £ 100 million to strengthen the position. The Red Devils paid £ 52 million to bring in Leny Yoro before he signed Matthijs de Ligt for £ 42.9 million under former manager Erik ten Hag.

The appointment of Ruben Amorim in November after ten hag was fired with a change in formation. The 3-4-2-1 system of the former sporting Lisbon boss, with which he refuses to deviate, requires three central defenders and he has had a shortage of options in recent months.

Long -term injuries for Yoro and Lisandro Martinez have led to Amorim rarely appropriate and available all its centerbacks. Young defender Ayden Heaven, who was signed as one for the future from Arsenal in January, was set up in the first team last month, but now the 18-year-old was also on the sidelines and joined Martinez, Harry Maguire and veteran Jonny Evans.

Two center backs, namely Evans and Victor Lindelof, are also set to leave United in the summer transfer window, because Amorim a huge clearance plot so that 10 players can leave Old Trafford. With that in mind, and despite other areas such as goalkeeper, midfield and striker as a priority, the Red Devils are looking for a new center-back, making them to Fenerbahce's Yusuf Akcicek.

The 19-year-old, who made his debut for Turkey on Sunday, is reportedly added to the Shortlist of United. After having made 15 performances for Fenerbahce under Jose Mourinho this season, some of the largest clubs in Europe are linked to a move for Akcicek, which may give United a heavy competition.

According to Turkish Outlet Fanatik, United likes to be on the 6ft 4in Center-back, which Tottenham recently sent scouts to look at. The Premier League pair has become a member of Bayern Munich, Napoli, Atletico Madrid and RB Leipzig when registering their interest.

But Fenerbahce plans to keep Akcicek, with the Super Lig Giants in advanced negotiations on a long -term contract, probably after 2030. If an offer were to be presented large enough, Fenerbahce Chiefs would be open to conversations.

What makes Akcicek attractive for United is that it has left-hand foot. Currently, the injured Martinez and Heaven are the only left -wing backs in Amorim's team.

Should Manchester United Yusuf Akcicek sign? Say in the commentary part.

Akcicek would probably cost much less than Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite, who had rejected the Red Devils two bids for last year. What is more is that Mourinho compared his teenage sensation with ex-real Madrid and United Center-Back Raphael Varane after an impressive display during Fenerbahce's recent 0-0 draw with Galatasaray.

Mourinho explained: “If he's not doing well, you will kill me. I know how it works. To play the child in such a game, I am sorry for the word, but he saved through butt. He was great. I am very proud of him, I trust him. He is not perfect, but he will be perfect.

“I don't want to compare him with Rapha Varane because he won four champions competitions, World Cup and has won everything.” But I played Rapha Varane when he was 18 and I wasn't wrong. And I'm not wrong with this child. (He has a) great personality and is very confident. “
