Man Utd in race against time to meet Ruben Amorim’s deadline to sign ‘frustrated’ star

Manchester United hopes to sign Brentford -star Bryan Mbeumo this summer, but the negotiations have emerged and Ruben Amorim wants the deal to be done as quickly as possible

Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim wants to complete a deal for Bryan Mbeumo before their tours by the US starts on July 22. The Red Devils have already rejected two bids by Brentford, who paid more than the £ 62.5 million United for Matheus Cunha.

And United are now in a race by De Tijd to sign Mbeumo before they leave for America later this month to play three games against West Ham, Bournemouth and Everton. Mbeumo has also been left frustrated by the situation, with negotiations that arise.

Mbeumo has made it clear that he wants to become a member of United and Ashu Cyprianus Besong, the Assistant coach of Cameroon, has revealed that the attacker is not happy with how things are going. “Yes, he is of course very frustrated about how long it took,” Besong told Telecom Asia.

“But he is a professional and anticipates these things. I spoke to him about a week ago and he is very calm with everything that is going on.” But of course he has already said that he wants to go to United.

“He just wanted the two clubs to find an agreement because he is very grateful for the chance he got through Brentford in his career.”

Brentford, however, has hinted that Mbeumo will stay in the club if their asking price is not achieved, with director of Football Phil Giles who told BBC Sport last month: “He had a fantastic season.

“We were expecting great interest in him, we had great interest in him. He has his ideas about where he wants to take his career, of course he does that – he is good within his rights to do that. We are constantly in dialogue with him and representatives about it.

“As it now looks that we have no agreement for him to leave. It is not impossible that next season he still is a Brentford player if we agree that he will stay. It must be the right deal for Brentford, every club will tell you that.

“If it's not good deal, why should we do it? He is definitely one of our best players, if not our best player, and we need our best players. There is no harm to keep your best players.”

Mbeumo enjoyed an excellent campaign for Brentford last season and delivered 20 Premier League goals in 38 performances. Only Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Newcastle star Alexander Isak and Manchester City Striker Erling Haaland managed have found the back more often
