Manchester United is increasingly confident to beat Newcastle for the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko and believes that the 22-year-old 'only' wants to add the club, has claimed a report.
The Red Devils finally made their interest in the Slovenian striker concrete on Tuesday, with an offer of £ 73.8 million, slightly less than the improved offer worth £ 78.2 million that Rivals Newcastle submitted on Monday evening.
While the magpies are hunting for the attacker while watching a replacement for their Wilse star Alexander Isak, there is a feeling that United would not have made an official approach if they had not received any encouragement from the player's camp.
According to Fabrizio Romano, United's confidence in completing a deal has only become 'stronger' after the submission of their bid and the club is of the opinion that Sesko only has eyes for Old Trafford.
He also claims that the club has forwarded an official contract proposal to the player while they 'continue to negotiate' with Leipzig.
The Bundesliga -Outfit still has to respond to United's bid, but Sesko will make the final decision about his future and is now considering his options with the club and his representatives.
United remained in the background, while Newcastle made two attempts to close a deal for the 22-year-old before he officially bidding it on Tuesday, although sources are strictly left behind.
They hope that Sesko's preference to move to Old Trafford will give the balance to their advantage, although the current range seems to be marginal smaller. United Chiefs believe that their price corresponds to the market value of the player.
On Tuesday, Bookmakers Betfair suspended all bets for the Slovenian to move to Manchester United of Newcastle.
Sam Rosbottom, a spokesperson for the Bookmakers, said: 'Because he has been 10/15 favorites to sign Benjamin Sesko on Monday, bet has now been suspended for Man United to close a deal for 22-year-old Slovenian.
'United has already concluded deals for Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to stimulate their attacking ranks this summer. With his future that looks unlikely, Rasmus Hojlund is 3/10 to become a member of RB Leipzig, in the opposite direction to Sesko. '
United wanted to sign a center-forward this summer after seeing No. 1 target Liam Delap chose Chelsea, and Hugo Ekitike and Viktor Gyokeres go to Liverpool and Arsenal.
They have already spent more than £ 130 million to Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha to support a new center-forward, set up with Rasmus Hojlund to leave when a new signing arrives.
