Marcus Rashford remains a hot commodity in January, with the Manchester United star reportedly receiving as many as 20 offers for the England international.
The 27-year-old is likely to leave his boyhood club this month after being frozen out by Ruben Amorim following his omission from the Manchester derby squad in December. Rashford has not played for United since his 56-minute cameo against Victoria Plzen in the Europa League on December 12.
His decline in form has lasted 18 months, with the star failing to get anywhere near his 30-goal season highs during the 2022/2023 campaign. However, he remains in demand, with the likes of Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund reportedly interested in his services.
With just a week to go in the January transfer window, the clock is ticking for Rashford to make the move from Old Trafford – and he certainly has no shortage of suitors.
According to The Independent, United have asked no fewer than 20 questions about Rashford's availability, showing how well-regarded the forward remains in the game. While the report adds that some of these questions may be informal, it goes on to claim that Rashford had no interest in joining another English club, such as Tottenham or West Ham, and that he wants to choose a club that suits him. .
At 27, Rashford still has plenty of years at the top and he will have a point to prove. His rejection of the likes of Spurs and West Ham shows how seriously he is taking his next step, which could be the most important of his career to date, by choosing not to take the easiest option out of Old Trafford.
Juventus appear to be the frontrunners for his loan deal, which Rashford is reportedly open to, with Barcelona considered a possibility in the summer. AC Milan's decision to loan Kyle Walker from Manchester City closed the escape route for Rashford, although Borussia Dortmund are still interested in the United star.
Despite not featuring in Amorim's last nine games in all competitions, he remains a popular talking point at the Portuguese's press conferences. Rashford was mentioned after their 3-1 defeat to Brighton last week, when the Portuguese boss expressed his decision not to include the forward in the team.
'It's his choice [not to play]” said the 39-year-old. I don't want to focus on this bad moment because in the games we have lost, Rashford is not there. I don't want to put this moment on Rashford. Rashford is out of this. Whatever happens, “I'm not going to take out a player who I don't think is the best for the team.”
