Manchester United's home match against Nottingham Forest will go ahead as planned on Saturday despite the chaos caused by Storm Darragh.
The club issued a statement about the match, which was due to start at 5.30pm, after the last Merseyside derby at Goodison Park was cancelled.
Storm Darragh has thrown the sporting calendar into disarray after wreaking havoc across the country with winds of up to 90mph, causing travel chaos and damage and leaving thousands of people without power.
Everton vs Liverpool is one of the football matches postponed at short notice, along with two in the Championship and three in Leagues One and Two.
But United insisted there are currently no plans to call off their Premier League match against Forest at Old Trafford.
“Today's Premier League match at Old Trafford between Manchester United and Nottingham Forest will go ahead as planned,” United said in a statement.
'The club will continue to consult the relevant authorities throughout the day and will notify supporters immediately if anything changes.'
United also said the match will not count towards the minimum usage requirement for season ticket holders, who must attend at least 17 of the 19 home matches in the Premier League or risk losing their seat at Old Trafford.
The decision to postpone the Merseyside derby was taken just four hours before the match was due to start. It is the final meeting between Everton and Liverpool at Goodison Park before the Toffees move into their new £760million stadium next season.
Local authorities – rather than the two clubs – called for a postponement on safety grounds.
'Following a Safety Advisory Group meeting this morning at Goodison Park, attended by officials from both clubs, as well as representatives from Merseyside Police and Liverpool City Council, it was decided that due to the risk to safety in the local area and the orange The warning for heavy winds which will remain in force until 6am on Sunday morning, today's match has been postponed due to safety concerns,” Liverpool said in a statement.
Everton added: 'We apologize for any inconvenience caused and thank the supporters for their understanding.'
Cardiff vs Watford and Plymouth vs Oxford United have been postponed in the Championship, while in League One Bristol Rovers vs Bolton, Blackpool vs Rotherham and Crawley vs Stevenage are all canceled.
In League Two, Barrow's matches with MK Dons, Newport County v Carlisle and Notts County v Colchester have also been cancelled.
