RB Leipzig -striker Benjamin Sesko has reportedly identified Manchester United as his next destination, in Newcastle in the process – something that Alan Shearer never saw coming
Alan Shearer seems to have been left a red face again after Benjamin Sesko Newcastle has taken in favor of moving to Manchester United. Magpies Legend Shearer claimed at the end of last season that the Red Devils would have difficulty attracting the top stars of the game after missing Champions League football.
This is a theory that has already been wrongly proven by United's acquisition of various much -needed players this summer. Sesko, 22, has now become the newest player who is in the Champions League this season, after they have offered twice for the RB Leipzig striker, so that Shearer was completely embarrassed.
The second offer from Newcastle of a total of £ 78 million was accepted by the German side earlier this week. However, all parties are now fully aware of the preference of the Slovenian to move to Old Trafford after Ruben Amorim's side offered a package worth a maximum of £ 73.8 million, with personal conditions that are no problem.
Sesko's Move announces part two from an epic climb down for Shearer. After the 1-0 loss of United against Tottenham in the Europa League final, and their 15th placed finish in the Premier League, the ex-England Forward claimed that they would find it difficult to shop at the highest level.
The football podcast is about the rest, he said: “They will have to recruit very well, because many of these players are clearly not good enough or are not suitable for that playing style. They are a million miles on and next to the field and I don't know how they get out of it.
“How do they attract top players this summer and can even pay for them now that they are not in the Champions League? Why would big players want to go there?”
In contrast to the opinion of Shearer, it seems that Sesko has not been put off by the lack of European football that is offered at United. While United has stolen a march on Sesko, the Red Devils also struggled Matheus Cunha out of the grip of the North East Club earlier in the summer transfant star, while Bryan Mbeumo also set the tone for Old Trafford.
Despite the signing of Anthony Elanga for £ 55 million from Nottingham Forest and securing Arsenal keeper Aaron Ramsdale on loan, Sesko is not the only player who rejects the Newcastle Eddie Howe this summer. The French striker Hugo Ekitike joined Liverpool by Eintracht Frankfurt after interest from the Magpies.
Burnley goalkeeper James Trafford later signed for Manchester City after he was looked at how. Both Ipswich's Liam Delap and Joao Pedro from Brighton, accompanied by Newcastle, joined Chelsea.
Things could still get worse for the club with Liverpool that was thought to be prepared for a second offer for Isak after their opening offer of £ 110 million, including add-ons, was rejected.
Shearer is also confronted with another humiliating rear job about this even after he has stated that Isak would stay in Newcastle next season. This came before the Sweden International communicated his intentions to the Newcastle Board that he wants to play his football elsewhere.
England International and Aston Villa attacker Ollie Watkins, 29, could now be an option for Newcastle after reporting interest last month, because their need for quality ahead is intensified.
Speaking about the uncertain future of Isak, Howe said: “I would not put a timetable on it. I think it should be suitable for the football club with these situations, and everything is then taken in context. The manager of course has an opinion, but in the end the decision will rest with the board.”
