Man Utd ‘make final decision’ on submitting Carlos Baleba swap deal offer

Manchester United has contacted Brighton to show their interest in Carlos Baleba, but every deal is expected to be extremely expensive and is a big problem for their recruitment team

Toby Collyer from Manchester United will not be used as a negotiating ship in a potential Swap deal for Carlos Baleba. With the signing of Benjamin Sesko on the Horizon, Ruben Amorim wants to strengthen his midfield options, and Baleba from Brighton is linked to a move to Old Trafford.

Brighton has hit a price tag of £ 100 million on Baleba, and there has been speculation that United's Young Talent Collyer could be offered as part of the deal in the midst of the disturbing financial position.

United will have to sell to re -buy after a large part of their wage budget on Sesko, whose £ 74 million relocation is expected to be confirmed soon.

This has led to suggestions that United Collyer could use to lower the price tag of Baleba. According to Manchester Evening News, however, he will not be involved in negotiations.

Rumors had suggested that Collyer could be used to seal the deal for Baleba this summer, given that the 21-year-old came through the ranks in Brighton before he left in 2022.

It was previously claimed that the chance of signing Collyer was unexpected. He was considered one of the best midfielders in his age group, and a source at United States known that they were surprised by the chance of signing him, but they were very happy to do this.

Born in WORTHING, just 10 miles from Brighton, Collyer seemed destined for a place in the first team at the Amex Stadium until he was released. The future of Collyer, however, remains uncertain this summer. The midfielder has put on loan interest and it is assumed that other clubs are considering a permanent transfer, reports the Manchester Evening News.

It seems likely that Collyer goes on loan. “I think in the first place I want to be here and want to play as many games as possible for Man United,” he said during his time in the US.

He is planning to have a discussion with the management of the club about his future. “I sit down with the manager and higher ups and see what is the best solution for that. The best way for me to develop, whether it stays here or goes on loan,” he said.

“The end goal for me is to play here as many minutes as possible, hopefully starting with every week. So yes, I sit down with them. Of course my feeling is right now that I want to stay.

“I want to play as many games as possible. I have not really thought that far ahead to be honest. I will just see how the coming weeks will go and then we will go through those conversations.

“I will be able to sit with them and see what the best solution is for that. But yes, as you said there, there is of course not much time in football. You have to get the results and the team progresses. So that's what we are working on at the moment.”

Collyer impressed last season when he made his debut against Liverpool in Old Trafford, and made 13 performances in general despite a small muscle injury. Last summer insiders revealed the high esteem of Erik ten Hag for Collyer, and another source noted his exceptional 'Freakish' current statistics during the training, only surpassed by Bruno Fernandes.

Amorim has also been vocal in his praise from Collyer and noticed the potential and work ethics of the player in January, while he said: “He has very good legs, he improves with the ball. He knows what to do to play for this club and feels the club in the right way. He is really modest and if you work hard, you get the chance.”
