Man Utd player ratings: Amad Diallo experiences greatest moment of his career

AMAD DIALLO left Manchester City stunned as he turned the derby on its head.

The flying winger won a penalty, converted by Bruno Fernandes, into the dying embers to level the score.

But the best was yet to come as Amad blazed past an onrushing Ederson before expertly slotting home a dramatic winner from a tight angle deep into stoppage time.

SunSport's Neil Custis has given his rating for Man United's players…

André Onana – 6

He just doesn't give you any confidence.

He doesn't command his territory, and as we discovered in Plzen midweek, his distribution from the back is a big plus for the opposition. However, he wasn't tested that often.

Lisandro Martínez – 7

Under Amorim he seemed more calm than before, when he seemed to live up to his nickname from his Ajax days 'The Butcher of Amsterdam'.

Great through ball at the end to set up Amad's point for the winner.

Harry Maguire-8

Had a great fight with Erling Haaland, who won the United man. The right decision to bring in the former captain for such a big match.

It looks like he's suited for the position in the middle of that back three.

Matthijs de Ligt 78' – 7

Quite an achievement. Looked more comfortable next to Maguire than other centre-backs.

Diogo Dalot-5

He mistimed his jump when he was knocked into the ball by Josko Gvardiol before the City opener. Hasn't made enough progress from his full-back role.

Bruno Fernandes-8

Big chance missed after Hojlund shot the ball wide.

But when the moment comes from the penalty spot, he is cool in the hottest of atmospheres and sends Ederson the wrong way to score the equalizer.

Manuel Ugarte-7

Sat in front of the back four and ignored much of what Phil Foden was trying to do for the home side.

Noussair Mazraoui 78' – 8

Buy the best of summer. He was deployed as a right wing-back on this occasion and can adapt to what is asked of him. One of United's best performers of the day.

Mason mounting 13' – 6

He almost appeared to burst into tears when he had to leave the field early in the match. He's just not having any luck with injuries and hasn't had a decent run since joining the club.

Amad Diallo 90'-9

The best moment of his career so far with a memorable derby winner. Firstly a brilliant run to meet Martinez's pass before clipping the ball past Ederson and although it was a scuffed finish he got the ball on target.

Almost scored the equalizer with a quick header, which was well saved by Ederson.

They were then alerted to Nunes' back pass to win the penalty, which led to United's draw.

Rasmus Hojlund 78'-6

The most we saw of him was a direct confrontation with Walker, as the City player collapsed to the ground and fell a little on his own as he tried to win a pin.

But then he provided a wonderful through ball for Fernandes, which should have resulted in the equalizer.

Subs

Kobbie Mainoo 13' – 6

Did a good job when given a deeper role than Mount and Fernandes moved forward

Joshua Zrikzee 78' – 6

Not the man who will change the game, but he did well to retain possession in the final seconds.

Anthony 78' – 6

I came to try to make a difference, but lack the confidence that a lack of starts brings.

Leny Yoro 78'-6

Continues to feel fully fit again after that summer injury.

Victor Lindelof 90' – 6

No time to have any influence on the game.
