According to the Italian newspaper La Gazzetta Dello Sport, Hojlund could return to Serie A in the summer in a Swap deal for Osimhen who likes to be away from the Italian side. It is claimed that Napoli is 'desperately looking for goals' to support Romelu Lukaku in the front and has proven to be deadly with the Danish international while he could be the perfect choice in Atalanta.
The 22-year-old has only three league goals while he did not register any assist in his 24 performances in the English top flight in what has been a nightmare movement so far. Although he breaks down his goal against Leicester in the 3-0 victory of United on Sunday, many believe that he was not cut for the Premier League and should be sold this summer.
Co-owner of United, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, asked the striker publicly in a recent interview and stated that Hojlund was a precious signing that they should not have made.
“If you look at the players we buy, we didn't buy, we buy Antony, we buy Casemiro, we buy (Andre) Onana, we buy Hojlund, we buy (Jadon) Sanco,” Ratcliffe told BBC Sport.
The report suggests that a price tag of £ 50 million has been placed on Hojlund that the club would help to balance and unload the books, a player who has been very inconsistent since he was joined in August 2023. Hojlund's current contract with United, which he signed on arrival from Atalanta, runs until 2028, although a Swap deal is to stay until next season.
