Manchester United could prove to be winners as a result of the newest movement of Newcastle United in the transfer window while the Red Devils are preparing for a boost of their money this summer
Newcastle United urges Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga to sign after a second bid in the £ 55 million region. And Manchester United may belong to the parties that hope to see a deal.
After seeing an offer of £ 45 million, the Magpies returned with an £ 50 million bid with a maximum of £ 5 million in add-ons. If Newcastle can conclude an agreement with the difficult trees, United could pick the benefits of the sales clause that they introduced two years ago.
The Red Devils sold Elanga for £ 15 million in 2023 and the Sweden International has flourished since then. The Forest Winger played in all 38 Premier League matches in 2024/25 and scored six goals and offered 11 assists when the club qualified for the Conference League.
United is said to have a clause that entitles them to 15 percent of each profit forest on Elanga. That would see Ruben Amorim's Zijhark in around £ 6 million if their Premier League rivals earn a fee of £ 55 million.
It is unlikely that personal conditions are a problem between player and club, by post. Although Newcastle may still find rivals for the signature of Elanga, Aston Villa said to follow the situation.
Newcastle, who can offer Elanga the opportunity to play in the Champions League, has a long -term interest in the player. The club failed to land the 23-year-old last summer when an approach was knocked back.
On that occasion, the Tyneside team was willing to pay £ 45 million, including an initial payment of £ 30 million, a SWAP deal for Miguel Almiron and two potential further £ 5 million payments. However, Newcastle could find more success this summer and a greater compensation for United.
“There is a lot of talk,” said Elanga during the international service last month, witnessed by sport. “I concentrate on what I can do and my focus was on the game today. In football there are always rumors. The most important thing is that I concentrate on what I can control.”
“I think there will always be scouts where I also play,” he added. “As long as I stay focused and do my best in the game.
“I just keep my focus and what I can control. That's what I can do on and outside the field. I concentrate on the next day and action. That is what I can do.”
United would be happy to see a boost of their money if they try to add to their team this summer. The Red Devils have already seen two bids that have been rejected for Bryan Mbeumo and want to add a new striker to their team.
