Manchester United is set to a large squadevision next summer, with eight players from the first team who is said to leave.
Co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe recently admitted that various players are “not good enough” and “too much paid”, where United wants to reduce their losses for a number of large money signs that have not met expectations.
“If you look at the players we buy this summer, which we have not bought, we buy Antony, we buy Casemiro, we buy we [Andre] Onana, we buy [Rasmus] Hojlund, we buy [Jadon] Sancho, “Ratcliffe told BBC Sport.
“These are all things from the past, whether we like it or not, we have inherited those things and have to figure it out. For Sancho, who now plays for Chelsea and we pay half of his wages, we pay £ 17 million to buy it in the summer.
“It takes us time to go away to a new place in the future of the past. Some are not good enough and some are probably too much paid. But for us to form the team for which we are fully responsible, and responsible, will take time.
“We have this period of transformation where we go from the past to the future. There are some great players in the team as we know, the captain is a fantastic football player. We certainly need Bruno (Fernandes), he is a fantastic football player.”
According to the Daily Mail, Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Tom Heaton are all ready to leave the club as soon as their contracts end next summer. The report also states that United wants to discharge both Casemiro and Mason Mount.
Casemiro cost £ 70 million back in 2022, while Mount was signed for £ 60 million in 2023 and the club was prepared to take a big hit to get their wages from the books. Antony is also set to a permanent departure, where Real Betis wants to make his loan permanent.
The report adds that United can also look to sell £ 72 million striker Rasmus Hojlund, who has not scored in his last 20 games in all competitions. Jadon Sancho and Marcus Rashford are currently also on loan in Chelsea and Aston Villa respectively and can make those movements permanently in the summer.
