Manchester United seems to cash in a few of their stars this summer to generate money and one of the more successful signing sessions by Erik ten Hag can even be shown the exit door in the coming months
Napoli has identified Manchester United star Lisandro Martinez as a potential signing despite his recent injury problems. The Argentina International missed large parts of last season last season due to a serious knee injury.
The 27-year-old made 32 performances in all competitions for the Red Devils, where Leny Yoro and Matthijs de Ligt were signed last summer to give him extra competition. And now it seems that United thinks it does something when it comes to the future of Martinez.
According to a number of reports in Italy, recently crowned Series A-Champions Napoli Martinez added to their shortlist of potential summer identities. Giovanni Manna from the Italian side is said to be a big fan and is not much worried about Martinez's fitness issues.
The former Ajax man is one of a number of options that are checked by Napoli because they want to defend their title next term. After their greatest success, it comes to sign Scott Mctominay last summer – with the graduate of the United Academy who proves the key to their successful Scudetto -Push.
United Baas Ruben Amorim has already shared his position on Martinez and praised his dedication to the Red Devils. He said: “If you allow him, he can play today without a problem.
“Because he loves the club, he wants to help the team, he understands the context. As I said, he is a great character, he is really important in the dressing room.”
In the meantime, Martinez has also given his opinion about life under Amorim and seems to be a big fan. Speaking in United's MatchDay program, he said: “It is the way I like to play, the way of playing football; the passion, the energy. If you have that with me, it is as if you are making contact quickly.
“He [Amorim] Has a lot of good things. I think he demands what the club requires, what is good. I love his passion, his energy, the way he wants to play – well in possession, when defending. I think he's good – also the staff, the energy in the neighborhood [the place]It [has been] So good, yes. “

Martinez came to the club of the Dutch side Ajax in the summer of 2022 for a fee of £ 56.7 million. He was reunited with former boss Erik ten Hag in Old Trafford and was an important player during his debut campaign.
However, injuries have limited its contributions in the past seasons, with Martinez now only talking about his deal for two years. When he leaves, he would be the third center-back to leave after Jonny Evans and Victor Lindelof.
Their current options include De Ligt, Yoro, Harry Maguire and younger Ayden Heaven, which means that there is potentially room for another middle behind, even if Martinez decides to stay in the club.
