Man Utd star’s agent confirms transfer exit stance after receiving ‘many offers’

The agent of Manchester United goalkeeper Altay Bayindir has confirmed that they have received 'many offers' to leave the Red Devils, but he wants to stay.

Bayindir, 26, joined United from Turkish giants Fenerbahce last summer and has made just four appearances since. The Turkey international's most recent appearance and biggest match to date was away against Tottenham in last month's Carabao Cup quarter-final.

Unfortunately for Bayindir it was a horror show. The 26-year-old failed to impress, conceding four goals, including one straight from a corner.

His performances appear to have strengthened manager Ruben Amorim's plans to sign a new goalkeeper in 2025, someone who can push current number 1 Andre Onana and seriously compete for the gloves, the MEN said.

Following that report, Bayindir's agent, Sefa Seyrek, spoke to Sports Digitale about his client's future. “Altay received offers from many European clubs last summer,” Seyrek explains. “There are currently clubs that are interested, but Altay wants to stay and play in Manchester. The club absolutely does not want to lose Altay.”

His comments suggest there will be no movement in United's goalkeeping department until the summer, when Bayindir still has two years left on his contract. Experienced goalkeeper Tom Heaton's contract expires in June, while Onana, who United paid £47m to sign from Inter Milan in 2023, has a further three-and-a-half years under contract.

Amorim defended Bayindir following his foul play in United's disastrous 4-3 defeat to Tottenham, after being asked whether the former Fenerbahce star had apologized to his teammates in the dressing room. “No, he doesn't have to do that,” said the United boss, who reinstated Onana for the next Premier League match.

“He needs to concentrate. We will see the game and we will improve every player on this team. We win together, lose together. It's not the individual; it's the team.”

With the Red Devils' season in tatters, Amorim is already making plans for his first full season in charge next season; It was confirmed on Friday that United have activated the one-year extension clause in Harry Maguire's contract. Meanwhile, breakout star Amad is 'close' to signing a new long-term deal. Both players' original contracts were set to expire in June.
