Manchester United stars are frustrated by manager Ruben Amorim after blaming their bad performance for hundreds of club employees who were made superfluous.
The new boss has been candid in his vision that the failure of United to qualify for the Champions League and the poor Premier League form is partly responsible for losing club staff.
But his claims have made some of his stars angry, who believe that he knew the full size of the club's financial position before he went to the middle of the season.
The statements have led to a distance between Amorim and his team of the first team, who also adapt to the demanding methods of the Portuguese boss.
A source said: “If you went to Carrington, you would think that the players and Amorim love it.
“But the truth is that the players are frustrated because they are blamed for the financial problems of the club.
“However, they did not challenge the manager because they have not yet formed a bond with him.
“He is clear in what he wants from them on the field, and they try to implement it.
“But although some of them fully support his tactics, they feel that they cannot speak because Amorim is steadfast in what he wants.
“They do what they are told, whether they think it's good or not … The players feel that they cannot show displeasure or it will be a problem”

The source added that Amad Diallo and Amorim had a band, while club captain Bruno Fernandes was an important guidance between the manager and the rest of the team.
In an interview after the game after the stuttering 3-2 victory of United on Ipswich on Wednesday, Fernandes acknowledged that Amorim's philosophy did not yet produce the results they wanted.

The Argentinian winger, 20, was addicted by Amorim after Patrick Dorgu was sent away in the first half.
The boss chose to immediately replace Garnacho with Noussair Mazraoui to strengthen the defensive side of the team.
The decision was booed by the home crowd in Old Trafford and called “waste” on social media.
Garnacho also seemed to be unhappy because he was the sacrificial lamb while he stormed the tunnel.
However, some fans think that the attacker was just gone to change his weeks of wet shirt.
Speaking after the game, Amorim was questioned about the attitude of the player and he brought Marcus Rashford in his answer from the Loan.
He said: “You make a bond with Rashford, right? I know, I know.
'What I say is that I will clearly talk about that with Garnacho [going down the tunnel].
“So I will talk about that if you want in the next press conference.”
Garnacho has since gone to Instagram with a more positive mail after he had shared a cryptic snap of himself who looked frustrated immediately after the game.
He shared a Snap from the team that celebrated Maguire's goal with the caption: “Important three points! Team.”
