The players of Manchester United take advantage of helping the club on Carlos Baleba while making contact with Brighton's midfielder via an Old Trafford switch
A number of Manchester United players had contact with Brighton Carlos Baleba about the prospect that he moved to Old Trafford in the last weeks of the transfer window.
Last week the Red Devil showed interest in the player, who saw his shares rise with the seagulls. He is the newest player who moves to the Amex as a relatively unknown amount before he becomes a huge hit and now circling in Manchester.
The midfielder of Cameroon played with Andre Onana at international level and was previously teammates with Leny Yoro in Lille. Several of the United Squad have been in contact to explain the current landscape and the ambitions, reports the athletics.
Last season, Baleba played in both Brighton victories on the Manchester outfit and was one of the most impressive players in his position in the Premier League. However, United accepted that every deal can be difficult to stop in view of the figures involved.
After having spent more than £ 200 million in new signing sessions, there is no huge amount of budget left. The club is not expected to make an offer on Baleba, unless they believe there is a chance of success if they continue with indirect conversations.
Brighton has already sold Joao Pedro to Chelsea for £ 60 million, reducing their need to sell. The seagulls also want to keep their top talent and the price they hit on Baleba can take the hope of United to get a deal over the line. The last time the south coast side sold a player of Baleba's profile, it was Moises Caicedo – who left more than £ 100 million.
The Cameroon itself has not shown a great desire to leave the Amex and Brighton. Their Chief Executive Paul Barber recently played speculation about Baleba who made the switch to Manchester.
He said: “We will always try to ensure that we sell our best players at the right time, not just for the player, but for us. If we finally do that with a player, it is with the view to leave Fabian with a competitive team, whatever happens. We don't want to sell our best players.
“Carlos is a fantastic talent that is for many years for him. We hope he will be here for many years to come. But it is something that, as always, is subjective to the dynamics of the football world that is not always predictable.”
