Man Utd target goalkeeper transfer after Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir mistakes

Manchester United are keeping tabs on young Belgian goalkeeper Senne Lammens after seeing both of their senior goalkeepers make notable mistakes in recent weeks.

United's season continues to be turbulent under new boss Ruben Amorim and while the entire team has been guilty of underperformance, goalkeepers Andrea Onana and Altay Bayindir have both made mistakes.

The duo have allowed both Tottenham and Wolves to score straight from a corner in the last few games, while Onana also came under fire for blunders against Nottingham Forest and Viktoria Plzen earlier this month.

Now United are hoping to remedy the situation by adding more competition between the sticks, according to the Telegraph, with a move for the highly-rated Lammens.

The Royal Antwerp star has already attracted the attention of Bundesliga clubs such as Borussia Dortmund, the report claims, and United have sent scouts to keep an eye on the 22-year-old to ensure they are ahead of the game.

It says that while a January move is not a priority, there could be 'movement' in the summer – especially if Bayindir opts to move elsewhere in search of first-team opportunities.

Onana joined United from Inter for £47 million last summer but came under heavy scrutiny following a series of mistakes. The former Ajax goalkeeper played a total of 76 games for the Red Devils.

The report goes on to say that United will be limited in their signings in the January transfer window as they look to comply with financial fair play rules.

There could be some outliers though, with Juventus reportedly eyeing a move for Joshua Zirzkee amid his difficult start at Old Trafford since his big move from Bologna in the summer.

Another United player heavily linked with a move away is Marcus Rashford, who gave an impressive interview in which he revealed he wants to leave the club after a difficult season – and has been left out of the final four matchday squads.

However, despite Juventus' interest in Zirkzee, it is also reported that they are not interested in a move for Rashford, who could be forced to play outside Europe amid rumors he is being pursued by Saudi clubs.
