Manchester United Target Moise Kean has given the club a big blow after he has insisted that he wants to stay in Fiorentina this summer – his release clause will be on the same day.
Ruben Amorim wants to further strengthen his wrestling forward line after he has already brought in Matheus Cunha from Wolves in a £ 62.5 million deal.
He has tried to sign Brentford -star Bryan Mbeumo, but United has already rejected two bids for the player and has not been able to agree with the bees – who are said to maintain £ 70 million.
Van Mbeumo itself is said that it is frustrated by the slow pace of conversations and lack of progress and United could change their attention to other goals in the meantime, because they have a new attacking option before the start of the season.
Kean – formerly Van Everton – has emerged as a possible alternative after a productive campaign with the viola that saw him score 23 goals, with a large number of European clubs that now circled for him.
There was a chance for interested clubs to break him for a relatively bargain of £ 44.5 million this month thanks to a release clause in his contract – but that is only available between July 1 and July 15.
And on the last day of the clause that is active, Kean made it clear that he is committed to Fiorentina despite the interest in his signature.
Speaking at the unveiling of recurring boss Stefano Pioli said Kean: “I am very motivated to move forward. Fiorentina has given me so much and has always supported me.”
He added: “Now it is important to return with renewed motivation and give my best for Fiorentina.”
The last time the 25-year-old was in the Premier League, he scored only four goals from 39 performances and was then sold to Juventus in 2021.
Other forward goals United are reportedly considering his Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who is a free agent after leaving Everton, Chelsea duo Nicolas Jackson and Christopher Nunku, while Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic is also mentioned.
Amorim also hopes to discharge some of his unwanted stars to get more money for his top goals – with Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Antony and Tyrell Malacia all told to find new clubs.
