There was more bad news for Villa like another possible candidate for the drop, Leicester City, daylight between itself and the bottom with a 3-2 victory over Brighton.

It was a miserable day for Aston Villa manager Natalia Arroyo, whose team in the real threat to lose their WSL status after a sixth straight defeat.
It is their longest series of defeats ever in the competition and the longest running line of each party.
Arroyo has been in charge of the last five of those losses, making her only the sixth coach who loses her first five games in the competition and the first since Jonathan Morgan of Leicester in October 2021.
