Manchester United is still on the market for a center-forward this summer after he had missed a whole series of goals that eventually moved to their Premier League rivals
Manchester United has spent £ 133.5 million on two attackers in the summer transfer window, but still remain without a proven center-forward.
The club has signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo from Wolves and Brentford respectively, with the young left back Diego Leon the only other addition of the first team to date. That will be a disappointment for Ruben Amorim, who wanted deals who were packed before the pre-season tour.
United is now on that tour in Chicago and still has to tackle many of the problems in their team. One of the most obvious is the lack of goals, after they had only managed 44 in 38 Premier League games when they finished 15th last season.
Rasmus Hojlund scored a total of 10 goals in 52 games, four of which were in the competition, and with Marcus Rashford who left for Barcelona, there is a need for a new striker.
Mirror Football understands that, after negotiations about Mbeumo who emerged, there is a feeling that United can start the Premier League season on 17 August without a new striker. They will hope that that is not the case – and here are the latest reports.
Sesko Boost
RB Leipzig has lowered their asking price for Benjamin Sesko in a boost for United. Earlier in the summer, Arsenal was deterred by the German side, which demanded a fee between £ 68 million and £ 85 million. But now it has been suggested that € 70 million (£ 60 million) would be sufficient to secure its services.
United was beaten for the signing sessions of Liam Delap from Chelsea, to Hugo Ekitike by Liverpool and to Viktor Gyokees by Arsenal. But their head of Scouting Christopher Vivell has been to view Sesko personally and urges a deal.
Last season, the 22-year-old received 22 goals in 45 games and is under contract with Leipzig until June 2029. United should probably discharge people like Jadon Sancho and Alejandro Garnaacho before they could still afford a large edition.
Kolo Muani relegated
Another striker United is connected to Randal Kolo Muani, which is very available at Paris Saint-Germain. He was sent to train with the PSG youth team by manager Luis Enrique, who made it clear that he has no future with the club.
The French International spent on loan last season with Juventus, who have rejected a few bids by PSG. He is now in the PSG Bomb Squad, together with Milan Skriniar, Marco Asensio, Carlos Soler, Nordi Mukiele and Renato Sanches.
The problem is that Kolo Muani still has three years on his contract after signing Eintracht Frankfurt for £ 76.4 million two years ago. It is said that PSG wants £ 52 million for his signature, but Juve will insist on another loan.
United Miss Out On Teenager
Tyrese Noubissie will leave the Academy of Manchester City this summer, but will not go through the city to United. The men report that the French side Strasbourg has won the race for his services, after he convinced the 16-year-old that his development could best be served with them.
The French central midfielder was identified as a potential signing by United, who know that recruiting players in their own country is easier since Brexit. But Noubissie goes abroad after he has confirmed his exit from Etihad.
“After an incredible two years filled with hard work and dedication, it's time for me to play a page and make a new challenge,” he said Monday.
