Man Utd transfer news: First January signing confirmed as Viktor Gyokeres drops fresh hint

Manchester United could turn to the transfer window to fix their stuttering season.

New Red Devils boss Ruben Amorim suffered his first defeat at the club this weekend. United lost 3-2 to Nottingham Forest this weekend.

The club is therefore thirteenth in the Premier League standings and is already eight points behind the top four. Fortunately, Amorim could add to his squad next month as the January transfer window opens.

A number of stars have already been linked to the club, while a host of Red Devils stars could even leave. Check out the latest rumors below:

Emmanuel Ziro has confirmed he has put pen to paper on a deal with Manchester United. The 16-year-old joins from London-based Cre8tive Football Academy.

He confirmed his move on Instagram, writing: “Firstly, I would like to thank my family for all their love, support and encouragement over the years. For as long as I can remember I have had a ball at my feet and enjoyed football.

“I now have the opportunity to continue to do that at the biggest club in the world, and also with the team I support. I look forward to continuing my journey at Manchester United and would like to thank everyone who has contributed to my development so far, especially @cre8tive.football. You are my family and I thank you for everything you have done for me.”

Sporting Lisbon star Viktor Gyokeres has hinted he wants to follow in the footsteps of two Man United legends. The Swede remains strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford.

“The players I looked up to were Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Gyokeres told UEFA.com when asked who his idols were growing up ahead of Sporting's upcoming match against Club Brugge in the Champions League.

“It's about how they performed on the pitch, they went the extra mile, which impressed me. I wanted to do similar things on the pitch.”

Besides the attackers, the Red Devils could also strengthen their defensive ranks. United are aiming for a left back next season and Theo Hernandez is one of the options.

And it's suggested it could even be cheaper. According to CalcioMercato, the Italian giants will now receive offers of around €50 million (£41.3 million) to sell the defender, while they previously wanted around €80 million (£66.1 million) for his signature.

Hernandez has just 18 months left on his contract with AC Milan and the club have so far struggled to get him to agree to new terms.
