Man Utd transfer news: Rashford exit route blocked as target rejects move

The Marcus Rashford saga is engulfing Manchester United ahead of the January transfer window.

After Ruben Amorim left him out of the squad for the epic 2-1 win against bitter rivals Manchester City last weekend, Rashford revealed he is 'ready for a new challenge'. His comments came just days after reports emerged claiming the Red Devils would be willing to cash in on their academy credentials.

His sale could go a long way to boosting January signings as Sir Jim Ratcliffe's brutal cuts to staff at the club have highlighted just how dire the financial situation United find themselves in is. New boss Amorim will be hoping for investment on the pitch. but it's probably a case of selling before you buy.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Bayern don't want Rashford

Bayern Munich have ruled themselves out of signing Marcus Rashford following his revelation about leaving Manchester United. Rashford, 27, will be available in January having already fallen out of favor under Ruben Amorim, but will not join Bayern next month.

According to Bild, the England international is too expensive for the Bundesliga giants or any German club. Teams in Saudi Arabia have already been informed of his availability, while Paris Saint-Germain remains linked after expressing interest in 2022.

Dimarco star rejects move

Inter Milan left-back Federico Dimarco has rejected Manchester United. Italian international Dimarco only has eyes for a new long-term contract with Inter, which he supported in his youth and does not see himself leaving.

Tuttosport reports via Goal that both Inter and the 27-year-old have rejected United's advances, with the Red Devils keen to sign a new left-back. Luke Shaw remains injured while Tyrell Malacia has only just returned from a 17-month absence, leaving Noussair Mazraoui and Diogo Dalot to share the left-back duties.

Ederson is being considered

Manchester United have only a few players they would seriously consider signing in January, and Atalanta star Ederson is one of them. Ederson, 25, starred for the Italian team last season as they won the Europa League and will be hoping to guide them to the Serie A title this season.

Sky Germany reports that some figures at United are keen to sign the Brazilian midfielder, who is valued between €50 million and €60 million. However, a full consensus is needed at Old Trafford before the Red Devils can make a move.
